A fatal motorcycle collision occurred on Highway 371 last week, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Information Officer Matt Napier. 

On April 15 at 2:57 p.m., Albert Charles Farrell, 79 of Palm Springs, was driving a gold and blue 2010 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide east on Highway 371 just west of Highway 74 when, for unknown reasons, he made an unsafe maneuver, causing him to lose control and crash. His motorcycle was towed by Valley Auto.

Farrell was pronounced deceased on scene at 3:20 p.m. and transported by the Riverside County Coroner to its office. There were no witnesses or other vehicles involved. The crash is still under investigation.
