The San Bernardino National Forest – U.S. Forest Service announced last week “with repair work completed, Black Mountain Road (4S01) near Idyllwild has reopened. Yellow post sites are open but Bolder Basin Campground remains closed due to hazardous trees.”

The road was closed as a precaution prior to the last storm season but needed repair due to the damage caused by the storms, according to Zach Behrens, public affairs officer for San Bernardino National Forest. 

In addition, large gatherings are currently prohibited, and because of this, Black Mountain Group Campground remains closed.
