There were three collisions (including the photo at right) on local roads over the last two weeks, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Matt Napier.

On July 21 at 1:05 a.m., Ron Martin Moore, 27 of Idyllwild, was driving his red 2004 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Double View Drive near Inspiration Point at an unknow rate of speed. For unknown reasons, he lost control while negotiating a right-hand curve.

Moore veered off the right-hand side of the roadway, careened down a hill hitting an unoccupied parked gray 2017 Volvo XC90 in a driveway. Moore was uninjured and his vehicle was towed to Idyllwild Garage. The Volvo was left in the driveway.

On July 28 at 10:55 a.m., Percy Stanley McGauran, 92 of Sun City, was traveling at about 55 mph east on Highway 74 west of McCall Park Road in his 2009 silver Chevrolet Traverse. For unknown reasons, he crossed over the double yellow line colliding with the mountainside on the south side of the road, causing him to roll over and come to a rest in the highway, blocking both lanes.

His car was towed by Idyllwild Garage and McGauran was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
