Three of the area’s four water districts have board member seats up for election in November: Idyllwild Water District (all five seats), Lake Hemet Municipal Water District (Divisions 2 and 5) and Pine Cove Water District (three seats). LHMWD’s division 5 includes east Hemet and Garner Valley/Pine Meadows Estates.
Elections will not be necessary for Idyllwild Water District and Pine Cove Water District because all incumbents have filed and are running unopposed. However, LHMWD’s current board member Hamilton Jones, who was appointed by the board in January to fill the vacancy left by Frank Gorman who moved out of the district, will be facing David “Joe” Jorgensen.
In addition, the Idyllwild Fire Protection District has two seats up for election in November. Three people will be competing for those two seats: Christina Reitz in addition to two recently board-appointed commissioners Dan Messina and Dennis Fogle.
