Thanks to all you new and renewing Members out there! You clearly want a real newspaper serving our Hill community and by your Memberships, you are keeping that a reality.
All of our Hill businesses have been hit hard by the coronavirus, and the Town Crier is no exception. SBA loans have helped us to a certain extent, but your Memberships and business and organization advertising are keeping us afloat. We anticipate and are preparing for a flood of new advertising to stabilize our position once the COVID threat is behind us.
Because of the virus, we sent all but one of our staff home to work for everyone’s safety. We found that we could operate very well that way, so we downsized to a small office in a great location, immediately next to the pharmacy.
Mandy, our office manager there, builds many of the pages in the Town Crier, including the Service Directory listings and Legal Notices that she also sells and supervises. Our remaining staff, Editor Melissa Diaz Hernandez, Reporter/Photographer Jenny Kirchner and Advertising Sales Specialist Lisa Streeter are still on board to inform and serve you. Becky and I fill in as needed.
With daughter Halie now retired to her role as the home-schooler of two small children, our graphic arts, ad building, page building/transmission and IT work are being outsourced to son Jeff’s capable firm Arizona Tech Design and Services in Chandler, Arizona.
Readers, please keep on joining. Members, please keep on renewing. Businesses and organizations, please keep on letting your customers and clients know all about you — and the Town Crier will keep on keeping us all informed.
