A traffic collision over the last week involved a deer, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Matt Napier.
On Sept. 20 at 5:29 a.m., Peter Lynn Swirsky, 35 of Hemet, was driving a Riverside County Sheriff patrol vehicle (2011 Ford Crown Victoria) at 55 mph westbound on Highway 74 just east of Keen Camp Road.
A deer crossed the highway in front of Swirsky. His patrol vehicle collided with the deer. He suffered no injuries. The patrol car was driven from the scene. The fate of the deer is unknown.
