Last week, the mountain area had one traffic collision, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Matt Napier.
On Oct. 3 at 4:15 p.m., Serina Inman, 36, of Hemet, was driving her green 2001 Ford Mustang at a stated speed of 35-40 mph west on Highway 74 just west of May Valley Road when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve.
She drifted off the roadway and onto the right-hand shoulder. She overcorrected back onto the highway, shooting over the double-yellow lines colliding with Joshua Glenn Sweeney, 36, of Jefferson City, driving his white 2014 GMC Terrain eastbound at a stated speed of 40 mph.
The impact caused Sweeney to collide with the mountainside and overturn. Neither Sweeney nor Inman were injured.
Sweeney’s passenger Maria Ramirez, 29, of San Jacinto, was transported by AMR to Hemet Global Medical Center with a complaint of pain. Both vehicles were towed by Idyllwild Garage.
