Calvary Chapel is distributing USDA Farmers to Families food boxes starting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Idyllwild Community Playground site on Highway 243. Boxes contain protein, dairy and produce. Distribution will end by 1 p.m.

Riverside County Firefighters assisted in the rescue of a Pacific Crest Trail hiker in a remote area of the trail near Anza. The rescue was reported at 9:49 a.m. on Thursday, March 10. No injury in traffic crash
At 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, Megan Reeves, 30, of Idyllwild, was traveling west on Highway 243. She failed to park correctly, and her white 1997 Ford F150 pickup rolled forward and hit a wooden fence. Damage was minor.
