The U.S. Department of Agriculture-U.S. Forest Service announced its expansion of the Every Kid Outdoors program to include fifth graders. The program already gives fourth grade students and their family members “fee-free access to more than 2,000 sites on national forests and grasslands for the remainder of the 2020/21 school year.”
Vouchers are available now through Aug. 31, 2021.
Every Kid Outdoors offers a way for students and their families to explore “cultures, discover connections to nature and spark a lifelong passion for America’s great outdoors.”
There are 18 National Forests in California.
Check with the National Forest regarding its status and to get any questions answered before visiting.
