You all know Doug Austin. An imposing figure of a man, both in and out of Dickensian garb, Doug was Idyllwild’s most beloved master of ceremonies, volunteering at just about any community event until recently when health considerations required him to move off our Hill.
A champion of literacy, Doug encourages young and old alike to read and enjoy the best of English literature.
We know Doug must miss our Hill as much as we miss him. The Town Crier wants to give us all an opportunity to express our appreciation to Doug for all he meant, and still means, to our community.
So, sharpen your pencils and write your appreciation and thanks in one paragraph of 50 words or fewer. Slip it under the door at the Town Crier office next to the pharmacy or send it by email to becky@towncrier.com by noon Friday, Nov. 20.
The Town Crier will publish all we can and send them all on to Doug.
Cheers, Doug!
