One collision last week on Highway 74, no injuries
One traffic collision to report so far last week on Highway 74, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Matt Napier.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, Richard Moreno, 30 of Coachella, was driving westbound on Highway 74 east of Keen Camp Road at about 20 mph in a gray 2004 Dodge Ram behind Catalina Gonzalez Morales, 41 of Hemet, who was also traveling westbound on Highway 74 at about 30 mph in a red 2004 Nissan Titan.
Morales lost control on the icy roadway, and the Titan spun and became disabled, blocking the westbound lane. Due to Moreno’s unsafe speed for the road conditions, he failed to stop before colliding with the Titan.
Neither vehicle was towed. No injuries were reported.
