Rotary supports ICC’s Distance Learning Camp

Rotary Club of Idyllwild donated $3,900 to support Idyllwild Community Center’s (ICC) distance learning camp at Town Hall.
The program, which began last fall and will last until school lets out, provides a very low-cost, socially-distanced location with adult support and supervision for about a dozen Idyllwild School students. Internet access is also provided.
The distance learning program requires double the staff as compared to ICC’s regular after-school and holiday child care program due to the additional required academic and technical support. This means that ICC has been operating its distance learning program at a loss each month.
Rotary’s donation, in addition to the generous donations of one part-time resident and another local family who have requested anonymity, significantly helps ICC offset the additional staffing costs. ICC is happy to serve families in our community with its distance learning camp and truly appreciates the support of Rotary and others who helped make this possible.
