Multiple places hiring
Over the past weeks, the Classifieds section of the newspaper has run multiple help wanted ads.
Layoffs occurred when the state went into lockdown. As businesses open back up, they are looking for staff to fill positions.
In last week’s paper alone, there were nine help wanted postings. The week before that five companies had postings and four the week before that.
Local restaurants Café Aroma and Red Kettle were looking to hire.
Other establishments such as Idyllwild Vacation Cabins, Living Free Animal Sanctuary, Mountain Center Store, South Bay Cable Corp and Camp Scherman are currently hiring.
Even the Town Crier is trying to hire a full-time salesperson.
Out of curiosity and to compare, I looked at the Classifieds before the lockdown. In the Feb. 6, 2020 issue, there was one help wanted posting for an in-home care provider and two — in-home care provider and Idyllwild Gas Station cashier and cook — in the Feb. 27, 2020 issue.
