Nearly two years after the fire that destroyed Arriba Mexican restaurant, construction to rebuild finally began. Owner Jose Huizar remained optimistic that he would overcome hurdles posed by the insurance company and would soon be operating his restaurant again.

Idyllwild’s own Casey Abrams left the “American Idol” stage creating a final impression that would last for many seasons. Singing “I Put a Spell on You,” Abrams showed why this “jazz messenger” had found his way into the hearts of not just his Idylwild supporters, but fans the world over.

A deceased female found along Highway 74 was identified as Bianca Bogarin, 25, of Moreno Valley, according to the county Sheriff’s Department.

1 year ago – 2020
Idyllwild Fire Protection District (IFPD), Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a remote rescue call. IFPD crew members made the hike, performed patient care and secured the hiker for hoist by CHP helicopter.
