Soroptimist International of Idyllwild announces the Modified Annual Basket Festival and Spaghetti Dinner to be held Wednesday, Sept. 22. The event will be held at FERRO Restaurant.
This year, the seating will be limited. You can receive an entry to the Dinner Invitation Raffle by purchasing Basket Festival tickets at the Idyllwild Post Office beginning Thursday, Sept. 2. There will be dinner seating for 50 members of the community, 50 takeout dinners and seating for the VIP sponsors. We hope to return to our traditional dinner in 2022.
Soroptimists wish to thank the mountain communities for their generous support of our missions. This year, Soroptimists celebrated its 48th year of serving women and girls on the Hill.
Over the past 15 months, we have continued working behind the scenes. Utilizing donations and grants, the club has donated over $25,500 to projects. Foremost, the organization gave over $6,000 to Educational Support and Scholarships. The HELP Center and the Women’s Cabinet received $7,000.
The group supports the Soroptimist House of Hope with a monthly donation. It is a residential rehabilitation center in the desert. Women were assisted by donations to the Riverside Alternatives to Domestic Violence and the Million Kids Foundation, a group that fights against human trafficking. The group also gave awards to local women through the generosity of the Mary Austin Awards.
Stop by our booth at the Town Hall event Saturday, July 31 to meet and greet and ask any questions you may have.
