The Town Crier is experiencing an uptick in advertising over the past month, so much so that we were required to increase our paper’s size by 33% in one issue just this month. If you’ve been in town on weekends lately, this won’t surprise you. With COVID cases dropping locally and Hill visitors swarming us on weekends, now is the time for our restaurants to advertise their open employment positions, their hours and their fares. Our inns need to advertise their accommodations, and our shops need to advertise their wares.
Many Hill visitors are TC Members who bring their TCs with them, and Town Crier newspapers go into the rooms of local inns that pick them up for free at the TC office. And TCs are purchased by visitors at numerous locations around our Hill.
The Town Crier now offers display ads in full page, half-page, quarter-, eighth- and even sixteenth-page sizes. Sign a one-year contract and you’ll save 10%. (Non-profit organizations always receive a 10% discount.) And we always, always, encourage our readers to patronize Town Crier advertisers.
The TC’s Membership model has indeed allowed us to survive during these difficult times, but advertising will always be the key source of income when it comes to paying our bills: payroll, printing, rent, utilities, several types of insurance, bookkeeping, page design and IT costs, Xerox, postage, internet and security system fees, office supplies, gas and oil, and more.
Our Hill boasts more than two dozen restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops and fast-food businesses. Now is the time for them to advertise staff openings to get their much-needed employees back, and to get their business hours, menus and specials before Hill visitors and local customers.
And contact Mandy at the Town Crier office, 951-659-2145 for Idyllwild Service Directory advertising, Classified ads and Legal Notices, too.
The Town Crier plays an active role in our community’s recovery. So, please support the TC’s advertisers and tell them you read their ad in the Town Crier. We are working toward the best for all of us.
