Short-term rental community meetings

Riverside County 3rd District Supervisor Chuck Washington is hosting two community meetings to discuss short-term rentals (STRs), one in Idyllwild and one in Temecula.
The Idyllwild event is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Town Hall.
The Temecula event is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Temecula Public Library, 30600 Pauba Rd.
Those familiar with the issue know that the mountain and Temecula Valley unincorporated areas have the highest percentages of STRs.

Because of strong gusty winds and low humidity, Cal Fire has issued a Red Flag Warning until 9 p.m. tonight for parts of Northern and Southern California tonight, including the San Jacinto Mountains. A Red Flag Warning is issued for weather events which may result in extreme fire behavior that will occur within 24 hours.

About 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, an unidentified man from Hemet apparently had a seizure and drove his white 2005 Toyota Corolla into a parked silver 2015 Honda Civic on Ridgeview Drive, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Graham Annestad. The Civic was parked in front of Suburban Propane. The Corolla driver was transported by Idyllwild Fire ambulance to Hemet Valley Medical Center in stable condition. No other occupants were involved as there were no passengers in the Corolla and the Desert Hot Springs owners of the parked Civic were not able to be located. Idyllwild Garage towed both considerably damaged vehicles.
