Small fire Sunday afternoon

At 2:36 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, the U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire responded to the report of a vegetation fire at Highway 74 and Blackburn Road near Valle Vista. The fire was on the east side of Bee Canyon traveling northwest at a slow rate of speed.

Air and ground resources were deployed to the fire, initially estimated to be 3 to 5 acres. By 3:38 p.m., resources had nearly stopped the fire.

The final acreage was 1.9. No injuries or evacuations were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Cal Fire Public Safety Information Specialist Maggie Cline De La Rosa.
