Idyllwild Indivisible will be holding a meeting at the Idyllwild Library
at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, with two Democratic candidates:
Christy Holstege, who is running for State Assembly, and Will Rollins,
who hopes to represent this district in the US Congress. Elaine Bacher,
one of the group’s administrators, explained that the chapter is part of
the nationwide Indivisible Movement, and was founded 7 years ago, in
January of 2017. They have about 600 members, mostly local.
Bacher described the group as “a concerned group of locals dedicated to
the advancement of sustainable economic, environmental, and social
justice.” Bacher gets the speakers and sets up the meetings. Past
speakers included the Sierra Club, political writers, and politicians
and their representatives. “I spoke to Kamala Harris’ group when she was
senator, they were great, very professional, very informative.”
Bacher had words of praise for both candidates who will appear on
Tuesday. Holstege “has the human touch, a lot of integrity, she does a
lot of the good work. Now she is representing us in the State Assembly,
she’s great, definitely for the people.” Rollins “Seems to be too good
to be true, but it is true. Very relatable, his ideas are excellent.”
She also points out that our US Congress seat is one of a handful of
seats Republican held in the country that are considered very
competitive.
Idyllwild Indivisible presents Christy Holstege for State Assembly and
Will Rollins for US Congress, Tuesday, September 17, 5:30 p.m.,
