Rosa Fire 90% contained, two structures destroyed

The Cal Fire Incident Update for the Rosa Fire reported that by 6:23 p.m. on Sunday August 10 the fire was 90% contained and two structures had been destroyed. There was still an evacuation warning for the the area north of Santa Rosa Truck Trail, east of Santa Rosa Road, south of Saint Pierre Road, and west of Palm canyon Drive.
Several customers of the Idyllwild Water District have reported deceiving telephone calls allegedly originating from the IWD office. The caller ID is displayed at the IWD office number. Residents of Riverside County’s unincorporated areas, including Idyllwild, are being asked to approve a special assessment in order to maintain the county’s pest control program, e.g., mosquitoes and rodents. Ballots must be returned and received on or before July 7. Sometime during the night of Saturday to Sunday, Dec. 11 or 12, a vandal or vandals attacked the Idyllwild Help Center, gluing padlocks shut at both the entrance and exit, and destroying signage at the entrance.
