At right, according to CHP Officer David Kling, Eldon Baum, 55, of Temecula was traveling South on Highway 243 on his 2012 Honda Goldwing about 1 mile north of Alandale Forest Service Station in Pine Cove at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. While attempting to round a corner, his front tire lost traction and he was launched off the highway and landed 30 feet down an embankment. The motorcycle landed about 60 feet down from the highway. Baum only suffered minor injuries, complaining of light back pain and a hand laceration. He was transported by IFPD ambulance to an area hospital.
