Under the direction of Nochella Hunes, forestry assistant for Cal Fire, Bautista crews and Caltrans worked together to remove trees and reduce the volume of other fuels along Highway 243 just south of town recently. Traffic was limited to one lane during their efforts.
The Riverside County Emergency Management Department had to cancel the planned meeting for tonight. They wanted to discuss the threats of flooding and mudslides from rainstorms. Unfortunately today’s heavy rain caused the cancellation and a new date has not yet been set.
