Idyllwild Indivisibles puts the final touches on their part of a quilt destined for a Climate March in Washington, D.C., at Earth Day at the Nature Center Saturday, April 22. This portion of the quilt is a joint project with the Idyllwild Environmental Club and Idyllwild Indivisibles.

Volunteers went out Earth Day Saturday, April 22, to clean up an illegal trash dumping area at the bottom of the control road on Highway 74, above Valle Vista. The cleanup was the second at this site and was organized by Young Idyllwild Inc. The cleanup was successfully completed with the help of four volunteers, and use of Arn Hancock’s truck and trailer for hauling. Photos courtesy Arn Hancock

Gary Parton’s beautiful Alpenglow Lilac Garden attracted a large number of visitors this weekend. Alpenglow boasts more than 300 mature lilac bushes, most of which are now in bloom. The collection is a treat to both see and smell. Photo by Tom Pierce

During her talk at the April 26 Idyllwild Rotary Club weekly meeting, Shannon Ng of the Idyllwild Library demonstrated 3D sculptures, which students had made. The Idyllwild Branch of the County Library System has access to many resources through the Riverside County Library system, including the 3D printer, and Ng spoke enthusiastically about the many upcoming programs.

Although the actual intelligence exhibited by the seventeen people who attended the Idyllwild Community Forum on Wednesday, April 26, at Silver Pines Lodge was considerable, applying it to the question of artificial intelligence proved challenging. No consensus was reached but the robust discussion had to be curtailed after the time allotted, promising even more interesting meetings to come. Photo by Tom Kluzak

Performers accept adulations after their performances at the Idyllwild Arts Vocal Jazz Concert on Monday, April 24, in Stephens Hall.
