About 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, an unidentified man from Hemet apparently had a seizure and drove his white 2005 Toyota Corolla into a parked silver 2015 Honda Civic on Ridgeview Drive, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Graham Annestad. The Civic was parked in front of Suburban Propane. The Corolla driver was transported by Idyllwild Fire ambulance to Hemet Valley Medical Center in stable condition. No other occupants were involved as there were no passengers in the Corolla and the Desert Hot Springs owners of the parked Civic were not able to be located. Idyllwild Garage towed both considerably damaged vehicles.

During the public comment period of the March 15 Idyllwild Water District board meeting, Tom Paulek, Idyllwild resident, accused Director Steve Kunkle of a potential conflict of interest. “Steve is involved with the [Idyllwild Brewpub] treatment system and that is a clear conflict,” Paulek alleged.
