This week, San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor Jody Noiron announced Arturo Delgado as her choice for San Jacinto District Ranger. Delgado is currently the Forest Wildlife biologist on the Angeles National Forest and plans to begin at the San Jacinto Ranger District the week of May 20. He replaces Laurie Rosenthal, who retired in January.
A 3.3 magnitude earthquake occurred late Monday about 9:34 p.m. The tremor was centered 3.3 miles northwest of Cabazon and 3.6 miles northeast of Banning. Two smaller tremors — 2.3 and 1.9 — followed it within minutes.
