Rosa Fire 90% contained, two structures destroyed

The Cal Fire Incident Update for the Rosa Fire reported that by 6:23 p.m. on Sunday August 10 the fire was 90% contained and two structures had been destroyed. There was still an evacuation warning for the the area north of Santa Rosa Truck Trail, east of Santa Rosa Road, south of Saint Pierre Road, and west of Palm canyon Drive.
The young black bear recently sighted in Idyllwild made his way here from Banning. He is believed to be a young male and is referred to as the “Rite Aid” bear since a picture of the bear was taken at the Rite Aid in Banning. He joins an existing and varied wildlife population with which Hill residents have learned to coexist.
The latest atmospheric river has finally offered some precipitation to the Hill communities. The fall and early winter drought is being slightly relieved. Last week, through Friday at noon the National Weather Service reported 4.1 inches of rain fell in Idyllwild from Wednesday through Friday.
