Caltrans has released a warning about upcoming work on Highway 243: “RIVERSIDE COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin an emergency project (estimated $2.3 million) to reconstruct the roadway and shoulder, stabilize and repair embankments, remove debris, and conduct culvert and basin repairs on State Route 243 (SR-243) southeast of Banning after roadway washout from monsoonal weather at Post Mile 19.7— weather permitting.
Emergency repairs will start on Friday, August 14th, from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Crews will be conducting one-way flagging operations for the duration of the project’s completion to expedite repairs and ensure public safety.
