The Idyllwild Home Tour takes place this year on Saturday September 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Village of Idyllwild, in the nearby San Jacinto Mountains. Tickets are $30 per person to tour five private homes. The tour is presented by the Idyllwild Area Historical Society.
“Idyllwild is a special place where each home is located in a picturesque forest setting. Our homes combine charming rustic features with grand mountain vistas, setting this Home Tour apart from those in suburban areas,” says IAHS official Ed Warner. “Our five homeowners are proud to share their private mountain hide-a-ways crafted by local architects, designers and artists, for a one-day treasure hunt in this historic alpine village. Home Tour guests will discover grand statements, secret one-of-a-kind features and creative touches as they walk through these five unique homes.”

You may also buy tickets on the day of the event starting at 9:00 AM at the Home Tour Booth in the center of the Idyllwild Village starting at 9:00 AM. Guests will then drive to each of the five homes and IAHS team members will help manage the traffic around each homesite. Homes will be staffed by experienced IAHS Docents guiding guests throughout.
Homes may not be wheelchair accessible, and walking surfaces may be rocky or uneven. Good walking shoes are recommended. No pets other than service dogs are allowed in these homes. The Historical Society will have free refreshments for ticket holders throughout the day at the IAHS Museum Garden (54470 North Circle Dr, Idyllwild, Ca).
The award-winning Idyllwild Area Historical Society is an All-Volunteer Non-Profit Organization, formed 26 years ago by local residents, with a mission to preserve, promote and make accessible the rich history of the Idyllwild area. We benefit from our veteran board of directors who carefully manage the organization, the campus and our mission in the community. We are proud of our 20+ active docents this season, who keep our museum open on weekends, and provide rich texture to our guests.
In addition to the museum, we operate the Frank and Mabel Moote Archive and Research Center, a facility that maintains an extensive collection of documents, images and artifacts that are centric to the Idyllwild Area. We enjoy the support of more than 300 members, locals and scattered across the country who are dedicated to this quest of sharing evidence of our past.
