At its Saturday, Oct. 24 Hoedown Event at The Rustic Theatre, Living Free Animal Sanctuary – California’s first “no-kill” animal sanctuary – will honor Idyllwild residents who have repeatedly put their lives on hold (and sometimes at risk) to come to the aid of animals in danger. They will be presenting the rescuers with their “PAWSitive Impact Awards.”

The honorees who will receive a plaque from Living Free as well as a gift from Idyllwild’s own Mountain Paws are: Megan Marie, Angela Bruno, Teri Hardy, Janice Murasko-Hewitt, Lupita Marquecho, Dr. Lorraine Kassarjian, Elzbieta Machowska, Kamyron Da’Niell, Kimia Behrad, Mike Larrabure, Amber Kirkpatrick, and Rachel Newman

“It’s amazing how many real deal animal rescuers we have in Idyllwild,” said Living Free executive director Sammy Busby, “and Living Free is thrilled to have the opportunity to honor them with PAWSitive Impact Awards at our Hoedown.”

The Hoedown will also have food, drinks, vendors, live music from four local bands, and stand-up comedian Alice Cutler with her doggie sidekick, Freddy. All proceeds from the Hoedown event will benefit Living Free’s efforts to provide an Affordable Animal Care Clinic for the Hill.
