Idyllwild School closed at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, due to the hazardous weather conditions. The northern entrance to the mountain communities on Highway 243 is being closed now at Westley Road in Banning, due to flash flooding and slides.

Feb. 14, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. — Highway 74 is closed from Lake Hemet to Valle Vista due to multiple mudslides. This hard closure is for an unknown duration.

The California Highway Patrol reports that a mud and rock slide at 4:34 p.m. is blocking both sides of Highway 74 between Hemet and Mountain Center. As of 5:06 p.m., Caltrans had removed all the big rocks, but there is as yet no indication that the Highway is open.
For only the second time in nine PGA Tour seasons, Brendan Steele was cut from the tournament at Torrey Pines, currently known as the Farmers Insurance Open. Brendan Steele fired a steady 34-35 — 69 on the Nicklaus Tournament course Thursday to tie for 53rd going into the second round of the Desert Classic at La Quinta.
