Historic board tours district
The Local Review Board for the Idyllwild Historic Preservation District toured the District before its September meeting. Anza quake felt in Idyllwild
A 2.4 magnitude earthquake shook Idyllwild about 7:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29. The epicenter was approximately 6 miles northwest of Anza and 13 miles southeast of Valle Vista. While considered a weak quake, it was clearly heard in Idyllwild and structures shook momentarily.

Bikers to get 3 feet of roadway space
Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation that requires vehicle drivers to overtake and to pass bicyclists at a safe distance. Assembly Bill 1371, which will become effective on Sept. 16, 2014, specifies this distance as a minimum of 3 feet.

Idyllwild Water board meetings
Idyllwild Water District plans a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, to adopt the new personnel manual. At the 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 board meeting, the board will hold a public hearing on whether to increase directors’ compensation. Both meetings are at the office’s meeting room.
