Longtime Hill resident Ford R. Dobson, 81, died at his home Wednesday evening, Oct. 17, 2001, of heart failure. Mr. Dobson lived in Idyllwild for 43 years.

He was born in Shamrock, Okla., on Nov. 11, 1919. He met his wife, Edith, when he was in the Navy. She worked for McDonald Aircraft in Los Angeles. They were married in 1947.

Mrs. Dobson preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 1995.

Mr. Dobson’s retirement years were full of many adventures and wonderful pastimes that included jewelry making, restoring and working on cars, remodeling his home, and traveling.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the American Legion.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the American Legion.
