Staffed by volunteers, the Idyllwild Skate Park currently open most days, except on Fridays, from noon until dusk, weather permitting. Youngsters enjoying the park, from left, are Jake Mabery, Nick Anderson and Oscar Acuna.

  1. That is a great question.
The park is open every day 10am-dusk, unless the ramps are wet.
Yes, it is free to skate. Although we are always grateful for any tax-deductible donations that help provide insurance and park maintenance.
California law requires that anyone under the age of 18 wear a helmet while operating a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or in-line skates. So yes a helmet is required. If you are over 18 there is no law that you have to wear a helmet, but we suggest that for your safety and to be a good example to the younger riders, you always wear all proper safety gear.
If a rider needs to borrow a helmet or other safety gear, please feel free to call the number that is listed on the sign at the skate park.
