  1. My family has been here since the late '30s to early '40s, and I have never seen the sheriffs log with so many burglary's… What is really going on? Even in the past, say 10 – 15 years ago, Idyllwild only had 1 sheriff that lived and worked on the hill, and 1 highway patrolman, JUST 1!! And ID never had this much property crimes, in all the years Ive lived up here Ive never seen it this bad… I miss the days of the 1 cop who knew everybody and everybody knew him, we have officially lost the small town feel, with all these crimes, and not that I don't want to see the police do their job, but now ID will be CRAWLING with law enforcement and agents, and I personally do not want that… Couldn't we go back to having One OR TWO officers living here and patrolling the community, I think that is more successful than bombarding our town with officers who do not have the respect for our little mountain community because they live in the city.. Big city folk… ID residents will suffer… and that sucks… ON A POSITIVE NOTE, NO VIOLENT CRIMES OR OTHER MAJOR CRIMES… I VOTE FOR LOCAL POLICE TO BE REQUIRED TO LIVE ON THE HILL AND PATROL IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY, AND IF THEY NEED BACKUP… WELL THEN CALL FOR BACKUP… OUR TOWN AS A WHOLE NEEDS TO COME TOGETHER AND HAVE POT LUCK EVENTS AND GATHERING EVENTS FOR "LOCALS" TO ALL COME TOGETHER AND BE FRIENDS ETC.. FOR A SMALL TOWN I KNOW PEOPLE THAT LIVE DOWN THE STREET THAT I HAVEN'T SPOKE TO IN YEARS… IF EVERYBODY KNEW EVERYBODY "MORE" OR "BETTER" THEN WE WOULD KNOW IF SOMEONE DIDN'T BELONG, OR WAS UP TO SOMETHING… COMMUNITY WATCH IS ALL OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY FIRST!!! THEN THE POLICE CAN BACK US UP IF WE AS A COMMUNITY NEED IT… nOUGH sAID… THANKS
