Country music star Leann Rimes appears at Living Free’s Oct. 6 fundraising event in support of the nonprofit’s mission of saving, rehabilitating and finding homes for abused cats and dogs facing imminent shelter euthanasia.

Public Relation Specialist Clay Helgren expects Rimes’ star-turn special performance to increase attendance over previous norms. He anticipates attendance of over 1,500. Rimes will perform with her acoustic guitarist around noon, he added.

Emmy nominated actress Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue, Desperate Housewives, Gray’s Anatomy, Wolf Lake, Ladies Man) will emcee the event.

Other featured entertainers include guitarist Joe Baldino; “Jazz Grass” with Don Reed, Barnaby Finch, Bill Saitta, Keith McCabe and Lily McCabe; keyboard artist David Hirsch; and John King, Elaine Latimer and Bill Sheppard playing together as a trio; and the Incredible Purina Dog Team performing in agility exercises and Frisbee catching.

“It’s All About the Animals” takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Living Free campus in Mountain Center. Admission for the event is $20 per person with children under 10 admitted free with a paying adult.

Money raised funds the life saving activities of Living Free, founded by Emily Jo Beard on the belief that “justice was not meant for human-kind alone, but also for animal-kind.”

Helgren noted the many great items that will be available as part of the annual silent auction. Check the Living Free website for more information at www.living-free.org.
