Mt. San Jacinto State Park Superintendent Garratt Aitchison is leaving for another assignment at the end of February.

Aitchison has been the local park sector superintendent for nearly five years and has had to endure and implement some of the department’s budget reductions.

Next month, he will become district superintendent at Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area.

“The momentum that the San Jacinto staff has gathered over the last few years will continue. Multiple multi-year trail projects, park-wide interpretive improvements and campsite upgrades in the works will be in good hands.”

This is the second time Aitchison has left Mt. San Jacinto. He had previously served as park ranger here and left for assignments on the Southern California coast.
