Brendan Steele will be carrying a slew of new sticks when he opens his main 2015 PGA Tour at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation in La Quinta this week.
The native Idyllwilder will be pounding a TaylorMade driver for the first time, a model SLDR, and his 3-wood will be one of two TaylorMade SLDR Mini-Drivers. He’ll be carrying a Callaway Apex 2-iron as a driving iron in his hybrid slot.
His 4-iron is a Wilson Staff FG Tour V4 “muscle cavity-back” and the rest of the set — 5 through PW — are Wilson Staff FG Tournament 100 blades.
Steele also will carry a Wilson 52-degree gap wedge and Titleist Vokey 54- and 60-degree wedges, along with a Titleist Scotty Cameron putter.
The bag itself is a Wilson Staff Centennial Tour model.
Ball, shoes and glove will be Titleist Pro V1x, Titleist/Footjoy and Titleist, respectively, and he’ll be sporting a Wilson Staff hat over Dunning golf apparel.
Steele will tee off Thursday at 9:00 a.m. on the 10th tee of the La Quinta Country Club course, Friday at 8:30 a.m. on the 1st tee of the Nicklaus PGA West course, and Saturday at 10:10 a.m. on the 10th tee of the Palmer PGA West course, all in La Quinta.
Come on down, join the Idyllwild gallery, meet Steele’s Montreal Super Fans, and enjoy some relaxing sun.
