Matt Lutz shot a 4-under-par 68 in the final round of the Tucson NCAA Regional in Marana, Arizona, to finish third and advance to the NCAA Championships, May 27 to June 1 in Eugene, Oregon.

Lutz is the grandson of Ralph Lewis, who owned a cabin in Idyllwild for some 40 years. He also is a student and golf team member at UC, Riverside, the alma mater of Idyllwild-born PGA pro Brendan Steele.
