Mike Freitas has "retired" from the Idyllwild Water District board effective immediately, he confirmed with the Town Crier late Friday afternoon. He is the second director to leave the IWD board this week.
President Jim Billman resigned Monday, as did General Manager Tom Lynch. Lynch did not give much notice, leaving the same day.
Billman and Freitas, along with Director John Cook, have been pressured to resign by disgruntled community members, some of whom posted large signs throughout town demanding their resignations. As of Friday, Cook is the only one of the three still on board.
Steve Kunkle and June Rockwell were elected by voters to the board last year over incumbents Warren Monroe and Dean Lattin.
More information on developments at IWD will be reported in the Town Crier online immediately and in print in our next issue.
Seeep a $50,000 incident under the rug? Customers deserve to know what happened since they paid for it.
The only reason it’s a $50,000 incident is because Lynch ran the bill up, just to sue Steve Kunkle, supported by a Board that did not have the Districts best interest at heart.
From what I understand it was a $50,000 cleanup
Why are you the only one not putting a real name? Could it be because Mike Freitas is known in this town as the Jerkyman?
Sorry I didn’t notice never used this before!
No problem using my name!
