Howard Wesley Brown, Idyllwild resident for more than 21 years, was born July 1, 1945 in Riverside, and  passed away at Hemet Valley Medical Center on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016.

A Marine veteran and former owner of the Chevron Station, Howard was president of the Idyllwild Water District and vice president of the Idyllwild Fire Protection District board.

Howard is survived by his wife Cheryl Brown; children Tammy Bell and Timothy Brown; grandchildren Brandi Bell and Rachel Bell; sister Marilyn Brown; and in-laws Beth Pachman, Maria Loutzenhiser, and Sue and Michael Loutzenhiser.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Hemet Valley Mortuary, 403 N. San Jacinto St., Hemet.
