The ownership of the Pine Cove and Mountain Center markets will change, according to Shane Stewart, current owner. But the business model will continue as he established it.
Stewart is selling the market businesses, but not the property; consequently, he intends for the gasoline station and market business to be maintained.
“Everything will be the same, employees, gas, all of it,” he stated.
The purchase is expected to close early this fall. Stewart did not discuss the prospective new owners.
In the past few years, Stewart bought the Pine Cove Market, renovated the Mountain Center site after his purchase, and created a visitors’ parking lot in town.
When asked what other ideas he has for Idyllwild, he replied, “I’m not done yet.” But he wasn’t ready to reveal the next idea.
