Brendan Steele did not fare well last week in The Northern Trust, the first of four post-season playoff tournaments that will decide the winner of the FedExCup. He managed only a 5-over-par 71-74 — 145 and was cut from the tournament.

The Idyllwild native dropped to 23rd on the FedExCup points list. He needs to stay in the top 30 after the second and third playoff tournaments in order to make it into the Tour Championship, the season’s final tournament, which will determine the winner of the FedExCup.

Brendan plays this week in the $8.75 million Dell Technologies Championship, the second of the four playoff tournaments, which is played Friday through Monday, Labor Day Weekend, on the TPC Boston course in Norton, Massachusetts.

Brendan tees off Friday at 10:40 a.m. PDT and Saturday at 6:15 a.m. PDT. He plays both days with Russell Henley and Justin Rose.
