For years, Jo’An’s has had an outdoor stage for musical performances. Only a day after the restaurant and property were sold to new owners, the stage was razed.

Two local restaurants sold last week. David Butterfield, co-owner of Ferro and the Idyllwild Brewpub, was the principal in the acquisition of Jo’An’s and Uncle B’s.

He confirmed his involvement in response to a question from the Town Crier. While he was not ready to discuss the future possible uses of the Jo’An’s site, he did write, “We will not reopen Jo’An’s.”

Some work has already commenced at the site. The stage where bands played outside has already been razed.

Uncle B’s will remain a food establishment, Butterfield said. “Plant Food Supper Club will be relocating … to the Uncle B’s location,” he added. It is currently located in the Strawberry Creek Plaza.
