Robert Lewis, Town Hall recreation director, gave this report on Town Hall Youth Basketball.

Division 1 (ages 6-9)

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the Cafe Aroma Lakers hosted the American Legion Warriors. Triston Bilecky of the Warriors handled the ball very well with some good passes. The Lakers got a good game out of Ota Righetti with a bucket as the Lakers defeated the Warriors 14-10.

  In the second game, the Acumen Tree Service played the Idyology Bulls. It was tied at 14 at halftime as Ashlyn Wilkerson played very good defense for the Bulls, but in the second half, Alex Solorio made a basket as the Celtics pulled away and stayed undefeated with a 30-20 win over the Bulls.

On Friday, Jan. 26, the American Legion Warriors played the Idyology Bulls. Sergio Ortega had the hot hand for the Warriors with 5 points. Tate Donovan played very well with great hustle and defense, but the Warriors got their first win of the season, beating the Bulls 17-3.

In the second game, Acumen Tree Service hosted the Cafe Aroma Lakers. It was a tight contest with Kaylee Gage scoring a bucket and making a free throw for the Lakers. However, Gabriel Solorio played very well for the Celtics with ball dribbling skills as the Celtics beat the Lakers 22-15.

Division 2 (ages 10-13)

On Friday, Jan. 26, the Idyology Warriors played a doubleheader. In the first game, they played the Fairway Market Spurs. Mecino Reynosa had the hot hand for the Spurs with 12 points for the Spurs. Bailey Easley had a bucket and grabbed numerous rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Spurs prevailed beating the Warriors 35-17.

In the second game, the Higher Grounds Coffee House played the Idyology Warriors. Remi Mejia played very good defense for the Warriors, but Ethan Sheppard played a great game for the Kings with 10 points as the Kings beat the Warriors 24-14.

Volleyball

Mike Holato of Town Hall gave this report on recent Coed Adult Volleyball games.

Games

• Silver Pines swept Perez 25-18, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-17, 25-19 in a makeup match.

• Idyllwild Garage defeated Idyllwild Brewpub 25-23, 25-19, 5-25, 19-25, 15-8.

• Wilson Woodworking defeated Idyllwild Garage 18-25, 25-13, 27-25, 25-19.

• In a close, hard-fought battle for first place and the #1 Seed for the playoffs, Wilson Woodworking defeated Silver Pines 25-21, 25-27, 25-15, 21-25, 15-10.  Both teams played outstanding with fantastic plays.
