James and Michelle Wiesen of Idyllwild are holding a four-man scramble golf tournament as a cancer fundraiser for Idyllwild School Office Manager Beth Swanson and former Idyllwild School student Emma Salter.

Participants are asked to create their own teams. Prizes, raffles and lunch are included in the $40-per-player cost.

The event begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 22, at the Golden Era Golf Course, 19871 Highway 79, San Jacinto.

Local artist Marcia Gawecki, 57, has a congenital prolapsed mitral valve; her father died at 53 of a stroke. Her surgery will be soon. Lynnda Hart and Beth Severance are holding a “Have a Heart” fundraiser from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Rainbow Inn.

Marcia’s artwork, as well as other artists’ work, are up for auction. Also for raffle are two tickets to Jazz in the Pines, two tickets to the Idyllwild Area Historical Society Home Tour, two tickets to Idyllwild’s Got Talent and two tickets to the Art Alliance of Idyllwild Art Walk and Wine Walk, as well as other donations.

Musicians also will perform.
