Peter Davison’s CD “Iris — Bringer of Dreams” won a silver medal for New Age with the Global Music Awards on June 5.

“This is a major award and puts the CD in line for the gold medal at the end of the year,” said Davison. Davison said he doesn’t perform around town, just online. “It’s going amazingly well, and I am currently composing my 31st CD. In my late teens and early 20s, I did do some performing and touring, and realized I am more of a ‘writer’ type, composing in my studio.  That is why TV/film and CD composing has been ‘right’ for me; I am sort of a behind-the-scenes type guy,” he added …

Benjamin Ford Borchers of Fresno participated in the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics - Track and Field Hershey National Championships at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 23 to 29.

Fifty-nine qualified as in the 13 to14 age group in the 1500 meters. Ben, 14, made the cut for the finals with a time of 4:24, finishing 10th in the country in the finals with a time of 4:25. Nancy Borchers of Pine Cove is Ben’s proud grandmother.
