Idyllwild Community Center is sponsoring this year’s Great Pumpkin Parade and Carnival, according to Chris Perrault, organizer of the event.

Line up for the parade before it begins at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the top of Fern Valley Corners in your best costumes until the command is given to go.

The Idyllwild Halloween parade’s traditional organization is a hodgepodge of hobgoblin and ghoulish fun. Groups and families wander down North Circle Drive, stopping along the way to trick or treat at businesses that remain open to keep children off of dangerous, unlit streets in residential neighborhoods.

Along the way, be sure to stop at the Idyllwild Library between 4 and 6 p.m. for A Harry Potter Halloween Party. The library will have treats and crafts, and will feature the movie “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

The annual carnival begins at 5 p.m. in the center of town with ticketed game booths and Idyllwild Middle School will have its traditional Cake Walk.

Volunteers are needed for the carnival. To sign up, call Silver Pines Lodge at 951-659-4335.
