Editor:
As everyone up here knows, we recently lost one of our newer residents due to his being a victim of Alzheimer’s disease.
I am the same age as the victim and I have been thinking about how this recent tragedy could have been avoided.
Hundreds of man hours from San Bernardino and Riverside, along with a great many volunteers and $300 -per-hour helicopters and canine searchers were not able to find the victim in time to save his life.
How about this: Why can’t Medicare issue a tracking device to the families of Alzheimer’s victims and their family? It can be worn as part of clothing, a bracelet or a necklace. Not only would it be very cost effective, but most important of all, it would save lives.
If our political representatives would just do their job instead of playing “gotcha” with their political opponents, they could make this happen.

Although I was not privileged to know Diane, she was…
