Shere misses court date

Pine Cove Water obtains restraining order

On Tuesday, March 26, the Pine Cove Water District secured a three-year restraining order against local resident Scott Shere. In late January, Shere was arrested for suspicion of making terrorist threats to Pine Cove Water District employees and threatening the water supply.

The court official ordered Shere “not to harass, molest, strike, assault, batter, abuse, destroy personal property or disturb the peace …” of the individuals listed on the document. In addition, he was ordered not to “commit acts of violence or make threats of violence against …” these people.

And he must stay at least 60 feet from all PCWD water facilities, which are identified in the court document.

On Wednesday, Shere was to appear in the Riverside County Superior Court for a hearing on felony criminal charges regarding the threats to and extortion of the water district.

He failed to appear for the arraignment. Judge Stephen Gallon revoked his $125,000 bail and issued a bench warrant for his arrest, which occurred Thursday morning.

A new court date has not been set.
