Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” the ARF cats were looking forward to a busy Memorial Day weekend.Sadie: It’s so bright out here! What’s up?
Thomas: Silly Sadie. That’s sunshine.
Zeus: Haven’t seen much of that lately, and the wet weather postponed the ARF yard sale to this weekend.
Heavenly Whiskers: So, hopefully, a lot of people will come to shop and stop in to meet us.
Sadie: I think they’d better wear their sunglasses!
Heavenly Whiskers: What a great time to bring in a new member of a family.
Mr. Gray: True! Spring brings great weather and good spirits, and a cat or dog family member helps celebrate the beautiful season.
Pepper: I just love sitting near the screen of an open window or door. I breathe in the spring air and listen to the beautiful birds.
Zeus: And I really like watching the squirrels.
Bear: But staying on the inside of the door or window keeps the wildlife safe.
Mr. Gray: Yes, and it keeps us safe, too. There are so many bad things that can happen to us out there.
Indie: ARF has a great catio for us so we may safely enjoy the outdoors.
Thomas: George, I see you in the catio quite a bit when the weather is good.
George: I just love lounging in the sunshine and fresh air. But you know, a perch next to a screened-in window would be just as enjoyable for me.
Heavenly Whiskers: When we are indoors, we are better able to share our affection for our humans.
Thomas: Yep. In-n-out of their legs, on their laps … well, you get the picture.
Indie: I do, Thomas. I often imagine my own forever home.
